Trump: Always desperate to lock up Women

Increasing numbers of the world’s population, especially the youth, are connected to social media in such a way that the unending stream of information coming at them is reshaping their personality, values and behaviours. Minor changes occur daily and go unnoticed.


Humans, as animals, are hyper-sensitive to their environment and are constantly adapting to external influences that they are exposed to. Media gurus are cognizant of this fact and are channelling the thinking of the global ‘community’ to benefit their personal agendas.

To examine this point further we can analyse a seemingly minor scandal that has just popped up in the political sphere.

The backdrop to the present scandal is that in March of 2015 it was disclosed that Hillary Clinton had, as the US Secretary of State, used personal email accounts on a non-government, privately maintained server.

This breach of national security protocol was subjected to great scrutiny and investigations. The scandal was a major factor in her losing the 2016 presidential race.

Donald Trump, a billionaire who was also presidential candidate used her emails issue to demand that she be immediately imprisoned. He personally taught his followers their campaign marching song which was simply ‘Lock her up, lock her up!’.

The New York Times just recently published on 20th November 2018 that Trump wanted to order the Justice Department to prosecute Clinton for this but his White House Counsel advised him to desist.

Trump is like a pitbull that has locked his jaws on an arm and in out of frenzy and rage cannot let go. He is adamant that Clinton must pay for her misuse of classified emails.

Then astonishingly, a soap opera plot twist hit us when on 19th November 2018 the Washington Post revealed that Ivanka Trump, the President’s own daughter and serving Senior Advisor to the President, used her personal email for government business on hundreds of occasions in 2017.

Exactly the same breach committed! Proven as a fact. But her father’s response was worlds apart from when Clinton did the same deed.

President Trump immediately sprang to his daughter’s defense and up to today he is squirming and conniving to put his daughter’s actions under the proverbial rug.

This is the self-appointed ‘Leader of the free world’. What are his values and standards of justice? How does this story affect the personality of other leaders in all fields. How does this affect the youth.

If we ignore this as a minor issue and move on, then are we not in the same category of people who knew what Harvey Weinstein was doing but they looked the other way, saying: ‘Old Harvey! That’s just the way he is’?

Are we not aiding and abetting by remaining silent and allowing Trump to think that he is so right and proper - since he is getting away with it?

As opposed to this we have a renowned global leader from 1400 years ago who was put exactly in Trump’s position, both as a father and as a king.

What was the reaction of this global leader, called Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be on him)? It came to pass that while serving as the king of Arabia, a delegation came to him and appealed to him on behalf of a great noblewoman called Aisha (remember that Clinton was US Secretary of State).

This Aisha had been convicted of a crime. According to that country’s legal system the punishment for this crime was to cut off the criminal’s hand. The delegation pleaded with the king to grant her amnesty solely on the grounds that she had an exalted status within society.

The Holy Prophet and King Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be on him) did not hesitate but replied by saying that if his own daughter, also called Aisha, (whom he cherished wholeheartedly, plus she was the princess of Arabia) had committed the same crime he would give her the same punishment without second thought because justice in the land had to be applied to all regardless of privilege or sentiments.

The Holy Quran also humanity of a vital and progressive principle in this amazing verse: 

‘O ye who believe! be strict in observing justice, 

and be witnesses for God, 

even though it be against yourselves or against parents and relatives. 

Whether he be rich or poor.’ [4:136]

So we have before our eyes, two types of role-models to inspire us. One role-model is the present ‘Leader of the free world’ and the other is that world leader whose name, fame and moral wisdom will shine ever-brighter when Trump’s name has been obscured by the mists of time.

Be a social activist like me and play your part in letting our leaders know that justice and fairness is not something they can use or discard like a child’s toy.
