China: Niu Niu survives plunging 10 storeys and is out of coma

Greatest Person of The Month: Wu Juping.

What an uplifting story. Niu Niu, a beautiful two year old toddler fell out of her family's apartment window in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, on July 2, 2011. She was ‘Home Alone’. A neighbour, 31 year old woman called Wu Juping, saw the child dangling from the window - which was 10 floors up. The shocked Wu kicked off her shoes, and ran with to catch the child.

Niu Niu fell into her outstretched arms and seriously broke Wu’s arm. Wu had managed to save the life of this child.

The child fell into a ten day coma. She has suffered severe multiple internal injuries but is slowly and surely progressing. Today medical teams from China and USA are collaborating to help the recovery of the little Niu Niu.

Wu has had international praise heaped upon her for her actions and the Ahmadiyya Post joins them in thanking her for her humanitarian actions. She put welfare of another before her own life and wellbeing. Our prayers are also for little Niu Niu, for her speedy and full recovery.
When a humble person like Wu determines to do the right thing, disregarding her own self interests, wonderful and awe inspiring things can be achieved. The world hears her name.

Islam recognizes this potential in mankind and nurtures the human consciousness to carry out acts of goodness. That is the only way that humanity, living creatures and the environment will benefit and prosper. The Holy Quran instructs:

The reward of goodness is nothing but goodness. [Holy Quran, 55:61]

Rescuer Wu Juping smiles at her own son in a ward of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Bone Fracture Hospital at Fuyang, a county-level city in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, on Sunday, after she has saved a 2-year-old girl.
