US: Labor Day - Skyscrapers downtown and in Paradise

Labor Day, nationally celebrated in the first Monday of every September, is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. When a whole nation recognizes the effort of its workers and values them in this way, then is it surprising that such a nation raises itself up until it becomes an awesome Superpower?

Propped up by its workforce it can stand upright to its maximum height and decide the destiny of the entire planet.

As the Americans rightly celebrate their 'American Way', perchance they may spare a thought for God and for the fact that the American people have a spiritual side. They may then take a moment in that Day to assess the effort that the nation is making towards the labor required for their souls, both in this life and in the Hereafter.

The Holy Quran teaches:

‘Work, and God will surely see your work ...And you shall be brought back to Him Who knows the unseen and the seen; then He will tell you what you used to do’. [9:105, Holy Quran]

again,

And how good is the reward of those who work! [3:137, Holy Quran]

The Holy Quran also gives the glad tidings that in the next life those who do good work will be blessed with Paradise which is a reward for those who work hard.

And those who believe and do good works - them shall We surely house in lofty mansions of Paradise, beneath which rivers flow. They will abide therein. Excellent is the reward of those who work good. [29:59, Holy Quran]

Therefore America should celebrate the efforts, work and achievements of it's citizens with this national holiday. The best Labor Day will be when it becomes a celebration of USA's material and spiritual efforts and success. This is the only way to include God in a nation's aspirations and celebrations.
