Jobs had a very unique outlook on life and understood situations differently from the common man. An example of this is in his Stanford Commencement Speech 2005 where he explained how we can use death as a tool to help us live. He said:
“Death is the destination we all share, no one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be because death is very likely the single best invention of life. Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life.
Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
"Jobs confided in Sculley that he believed he would die young, and therefore he needed to accomplish things quickly so that he would make his mark on Silicon Valley history. “We all have a short period of time on this earth," he told the Sculleys. "We probably only have the opportunity to do a few things really great and do them well. None of us has any idea how long we're going to be here nor do I, but my feeling is I've got to accomplish a lot of these things while I'm young."
The death of this ground-breaking visionary is going to hurt the technology and business industry. Hopefully many more Steve Jobs’ will emerge from our youth who will share the same passion, work-ethic and pursuit for perfection.
