First Lady Nusrat Pervez Ashraf has urged the Muslim women to wear Hijab, which does not prevent them from making progress. She said that women could express their abilities by keeping themselves within the practices of Islam. They should wear Hijab to tell the world that it protects them and does not become a hurdle in their progress, she added.
She said that modesty is an ornament for women while Hijab is the guardian of this ornament. So the women should not hesitate from wearing a veil, she added.
The Holy Qur'an states:
"Good women are humble, guarding in secret that which Allah has guarded" [Holy Qur'an, 4;35]
The Holy Prophet of Islam (pbuh) said:
"Allah will be merciful to women who are modestly clad" [Wisdom of The Holy Prophet]
Therefore, being modestly dressed as well as humble is true virtue and shows obedience to God and his Messenger who came to guide us all. Nowadays women have lost all sense of modesty and humility which the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) described, over 1400 years ago, would happen in the future, he stated:
"There will be a time when women will go abroad dressed as if they were naked. They will strut about shaking their shoulders, their heads wobbling like camel's humps. Such women will never enter Paradise nor smell its perfume, although this perfume will be perceptible from a long distance." [Wisdom of The Holy Prophet]
