London: Hate preacher leads flag burning protest in London over film

Firebrand Muslim cleric Anjem Choudary led an angry flag-burning protest outside the US embassy in London today as the anger over a US film lampooning Muhammad spilled into Britain.

The former solicitor turned hate-preacher - a vocal sympathiser of the September 11 attacks on The World Trade Center - rallied some 150 hard-line Islamists in a march to the mission in Grosvenor Square this afternoon.

The demonstrators shouted 'burn burn USA' as an American flag went up in flames, in response to the obscure movie which portrayed the prophet as a womanizer and child abuser.

Scotland Yard said two people were arrested at the scene but would not reveal why. It is understood one was in relation to flag burning.

Choudary is the former UK leader of the al-Muhajiroun and Islam4UK organisations - both of which have been outlawed under the Terrorism Act. He now acts as spokesman for the extremist Muslims Against Crusades group.

This shows how Muslim leaders around the world are behaving in an animalistic and hateful way towards this film which is barbaric and not a representation of the beautiful teachings that Islam provides its followers.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the leading Islamic organization to categorically reject terrorism in any form. Over a century ago, it's Founder (pbuh) emphatically declared that an aggressive “jihad by the sword” has no place in Islam. In its place, he taught his followers to wage a bloodless, intellectual “jihad of the pen” to defend Islam.

Perhaps Anjem Choudary should understand the true teachings of Islam and lead his followers to a peaceful and useful demonstration against the film and not one which ends in his people being arrested. He believes he is doing good and fighting 'evil' but he is only creating more disorder on the Earth with his disgraceful behavior.

The Holy Qur'an discusses such people stating:

"And when it is said to them: 'Create not disorder on the earth,' they say: 'We are only promoters of peace'." [Holy Qur'an, 2:12]
