Apple has said it has been ‘blown away’ by the response to the iPhone 5, unveiled in San Francisco at a special event last Wednesday. The new handset’s initial shipment has already sold out, with Apple fans now facing a 2-3 week wait if they preorder the new blower.
In a short statement released to The Loop, Apple spokesperson Natalie Kerris said, “Pre-orders for iPhone 5 have been incredible. We’ve been completely blown away by the customer response.”
However, looking at the response the iPhone 5 is getting we can't help but think about the amazing vision and charisma that lead to Apple products becoming a part of the day-to-day lives on millions worldwide.
It's fair to say that credit should be given to Steve Jobs who's legacy lives through the company and in it's continued success. He famously gave many lessons to those who wish to become successful in life, he spoke extensively about death and said:
“Death is the destination we all share, no one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be because death is very likely the single best invention of life. Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life.
Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
Hopefully many more Steve Jobs’ will emerge from our youth who will share the same passion, work-ethic and pursuit for perfection.
The Holy Qur'an discusses the importance of hard work and effort, it states:
"It is these whose reward is forgiveness from their Lord, and Gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they shall abide; and how good is the reward of those who work!" [3:137]
"And say, ‘Work, and Allah will surely see your work and also His Messenger and the believers. And you shall be brought back to Him Who knows the unseen and the seen; then He will tell you what you used to do.’" [9:105]
