Beyonce’s revelation that she is pregnant with her first child caused tweeters to set a Twitter world record that night of 8,868 tweets per second. It is a universal truth that wherever and whenever a couple announces they are pregnant every person becomes joyous and celebrates because it is a blessing from God.
Beyonce is a role-model for millions of females globally. Her lifestyle and personal values are aspired to by women of diverse races, nationalities and cultures. Ahmadiyya Islam and Beyonce share the view that every child deserves the best start in life. She has decided the option to first marry. Secondly, to create a stable and loving home then thirdly, to conceive a child. Bringing the child into a stable family home.
Many women unfortunately have difficulty to achieve these three steps in their lives and our sympathy and prayers for success go out to them.
However, a large group of ‘modern’ women choose to opt out of marriage and stable relationships. They give birth to children and then an uphill struggle ensues to bring up the child single-handedly.
Even modern and liberal societies like the UK stigmatise ‘single mothers’ who use this option of ‘choice’ to bring children into the world without adequate provisions for them. The society's message is summarised as follows, “With great power (to give birth) comes great responsibility.”
The Holy Quran gives the complete picture of marriage and childbirth saying:
And God has made for you mates from among yourselves, and has made for you, from your mates, sons and grandsons, and has provided you with good things. Will they then believe in vain things and deny the favour of God? [Holy Quran, 16:73]
We pray for all those women who want to have a child, are having a child or have had a child, that God may fulfil their noble desires and grant them happiness.
