An Imam, Syed Farasat Ali Bukhari, in Norway has applied for a license to open up a primary school in Norway to teach 200 children his ideology. What is his ideology? Part of his ideology which he has preached on video is that all Muslims living in an Islamic state who do not fast in Ramadhan should be beheaded. He believes that all Muslim Scholars agree with him and his absurd interpretation of Islam.
Nowhere in Islamic history and Shariah law does it agree with his attitude or mentality. On the contrary, The Holy Quran states:
There should be no compulsion in religion. [Holy Quran, 2:257]
A teaching of the Holy founder of Islam, Muhammad, (on whom be peace) states:
Make things easy for the people, and do not make it difficult for them, and make them calm (with glad tidings) and do not repulse (them). [Bukhari]
This is Islam, any other claim is just ignorance and cruelty upon the vulnerable.
The Imam is not making religion and life easy for people and is promoting that the government of an Islamic state should practice extreme punishment if religion is disobeyed. This Imam is trying to destroy the pure and peaceful teachings of Islam and is directly disobeying the Holy Founder of Islam, Muhammad(on whom be peace).
As a citizen of Norway, a freedom loving nation, the Imam should not abuse the freedom they have allowed him to voice his opinion. He does understand that because of extremists like him, Norway views Islam very negatively, added to that the nation has been really wounded by the 'Christian' Anders Behring Breivik.
Is this really the moment to cause further pain to a grieving people by presenting his disgusting and violent ideas to the public in such a brazen manner? Can there ever be the right moment for a twisted mind to become a leader in any society, let alone the liberal Norwegian society?
As a self-styled Muslim leader he is attempting to malign the most beautiful religion by claiming to represent it. For this man to be given a school to run it is crime against humanity, against children and would be devastating for the parents of those children attending that institution.
Ahmadiyya Muslims around the world are left defending the true beliefs of Islam as a religion of love and tolerance. They categorically disassociate themselves from this Imam and his followers.
His extremist views are rejected by the vast majority of Muslims and we hope that the youth are intelligent and caring enough not adopt his hateful attitude in their personal and spiritual lives.
